From Hollywood to your home!
From Spaceships to Dining Tables
For thirty years, wood has been the language I speak. My career hasn't followed a straight line—it's been an adventure. I spent 15 years in the high-stakes world of Film and TV set building, where the "impossible" was a daily requirement.
Whether I was crafting intergalactic Spaceships for the Marvel Universe, building Spanish Galleons for Pirates of the Caribbean, or recreating the weathered stone of Medieval Castles, my work had to be two things: visually perfect and structurally sound.
Why Furniture? Why Now?
Working on huge box-office productions taught me how to solve complex design problems and work with millimetre precision. But film sets, by nature, are temporary. I reached a point where I wanted to create something that lasts generations, not just until the director yells "Cut."
Today, I've traded the film studios for my little workshop in Kent. I've traded the "smoke and mirrors" of Hollywood for the honest, enduring satisfaction of creating furniture and accessories that last generations.
The Philosophy
At The Oak Crafter, I bring 30 years of experience to every project, whether that is a bespoke piece of furniture or a simple chopping board. When you buy a piece from me, you're getting:
-
A Passion For Detail: A level of craftsmanship honed on the world's biggest stages.
-
Authenticity: No veneers or shortcuts. Just solid wood worked by hand.
-
A Personal Touch: Every piece is made by me personally, from the first cut to the final wax. No two pieces are identical.
